1)  High Window Cleaning & Professional Window Cleaners: Because Your Second‑Story Windows Aren’t Going to Clean Themselves

I’ve spent the last 9 years cleaning windows higher than ground level. From those small decorative windows way up high that are impossible to reach to those very tall windows that fill your home with natural light. I also clean huge windows you love looking through at our beautiful scenery. Windows that might scare other window cleaners The last thing you want to do is drag in the tallest ladder you have.

Personal story: I cleaned windows for a couple that owned a very beautiful, upscale home in Kayenta. They have windows at the back of the home that were so high I had to stand on my 6 foot ladder and use my longest pole to clean the top portion of the windows. They paid well, so I didn’t mind doing the work.

I gave them to another local cleaner when I started my house cleaning business. That was a mistake, but we all make them.

I use ladders, poles, and for the outside window, water fed poles to reach the windows that other window cleaners didn’t want to deal with. And honestly, I don’t blame them.

High window cleaning in St. George is a huge undertaking if you don’t know what you’re doing.

2)  5 Not Too Secret, Secrets About (High) Residential Window Cleaning

1.  Most people don’t have their windows cleaned often enough. Wait too long to get your windows cleaned and they probably won’t look as good as they could.

2.  Window cleaners don’t mind cleaning window tracks unless they are filled with dead bugs or they are cleaned once every few years at which point they are impossible to clean without a lot of effort.

3.  Home owners with hard water stains on their windows need to adjust their sprinklers. I can do that adjustment for you for a small fee, if you ask.

4.  Window screen material is made of plastic or metal. These materials deteriorate over time to the point they must be replaced or you just live with holes in your screens.

5.  Using vinegar on windows is an “old wives tale.” Vinegar just leaves organic matter on the window. The only use for vinegar on windows to to cut through hardwater stains. Another “old wives tale” is using newspapers to dry windows. Only do this if you want a fine layer or newspaper ink left on your windows.

Many of my calls are for tall glass window walls that stare directly into the sun all day. If you live in Entrada or Kayenta, you know what I’m talking about. Those communities love giant windows especially Entrada.

When I’m cleaning windows at a home I’m usually dealing with dust, mud, and hard water spots. I’ve seen all of this since I moved to St. George in 1999. Yes, I’ve been here a long time.

3)  High Office Windows (And School Windows) Cleaning And A Personal Story

Like all windows, office and retail store windows are a magnet for collecting dust. High office windows can be a challenge. They’re tall and usually placed in awkward places.

Personal Story: I have been called a couple of times to clean windows in school, including Tuachan high school when it was still around.
With the schools we are talking about 3 story buildings. I might have been able to clean the outside windows, but some of the inside windows were too oddly placed. To clean those windows would have required a couple of young men with a very high ladder. I’m not young and I only get on ladders no higher than 6 feet.

I use water fed poles a lot on commercial jobs. Water fed pole systems are reverse osmosis systems that produce enough 100% pure water to clean windows. They come with a very long extendable poles that feed the water to a scrub brush on the end.

They let me reach those high windows without straining. The water is purified, so it dries clean without spots. It makes the job seem simple and easy. I guess it depends on your definition of simple and easy are.

If your office has tall windows that haven’t been cleaned in ages, I can fix that. I’ll have your building looking pristine on the outside. Your clients and customers will notice the difference.

I’ve lived here since 1999. New homes have bigger and more windows all the time including glass walls in the living room.. Who wouldn’t want larger windows with our spectacular views!

Between jobs, I see people heading to places like the St. George Children’s Museum, and the Sand Hollow Aquatic Center. I’m usually driving by with ladders bungee corded to my truck glancing at what those places windows look like.

People Also Ask Questions And My Answers or FAQ’s if you want to call them that.

1.  How do you clean windows that are too high?

Call a professional window cleaner. They are used to working on ladders and they know how to use long poles.

2. How do I clean windows I can’t reach?

Well, if you want to try, use a ladder and a scrubber/squeegee attached to a tall pole. Honestly your best bet is to call a professional window cleaner.

3.  How much do window cleaners that clean high windows charge?

The price to clean any window in a home varies. If you live near either coast you are probably looking at $10 to $12 for an outside window pane. If you live in the middle of the country, like I do, you are looking at a price of $4 to $8 for outside only window panes.

4.  What do professional window cleaners use in their water?

Dawn dishwashing soap is the go-to standard. Of course any liquid dishwasher soap would work.

5.  Why don’t window cleaners use ladders anymore?

They do but sometimes it is easier to use a pure water system to clean high windows.

6.  Is Dawn and vinegar good for window cleaning?

You got that half right. Nearly all professional window cleaners use Dawn. None of them use vinegar. Vinegar does not help get windows clean, so we don’t use it to clean windows. We do use vinegar to get rid of hard water stains.

7.  Why do my windows look smeared after I’m done cleaning them?

*  You are not using a squeegee and

*  You are not using super clean, cotton fiber cloths to dry the windows.

*  By the way, I use a homemade window spray to also polish the windows.

Cleaning exterior windows on a two story rental what’s the safest method?

I’m refreshing one of my rentals and the upstairs exterior windows are filthy. I’d prefer not to drag a tall ladder around the yard. Anyone got a good setup for cleaning 2nd story windows from the ground?

Answer:
Hire a window washer person. They are not expensive. They have the gadgets and more important they have the know-how to use them well.

Answer:

For 2nd story windows, the safest setup I’ve found is using a long-reach window washing kit so you can clean everything from the ground. I use one from Extend A Reach, the pole extends high enough for upper windows and the scrubber and squeegee combo works really well.

It keeps you off ladders, you can reach the whole pane from the yard, and it’s way faster than dragging a tall ladder around every time you need to clean the exterior.
