Window Screen Cleaning St. George: Why Meticulously Cleaned Screens Matter More Than Most Think

Because Clean Windows Don’t Matter if the Screens Look Like a Dirt Blanket

I’m Don Glasgow, owner of First Impressions Window Cleaning.

I’ve been cleaning windows and screens in St. George for over 9 years. One thing I’ve learned is this: clean glass doesn’t stay very clean if the screens are dirty.

A lot of homeowners spend time wiping fingerprints off windows. Then they look through screens packed with dust, pollen, red dirt, and who-knows-what from last week’s wind storm. It’s kinda like washing your truck and leaving mud on the windshield.

That’s why window screen cleaning St. George is one of my most requested services.

Living near communities like Stone Cliff, Kayenta, and Sunriver has plenty of benefits. Clean air and beautiful views are high on the list. The downside is that Southern Utah dust finds its way into everything. Screens catch much of that dirt before it reaches your home.

When I clean screens, I remove the buildup that blocks airflow and makes windows look dull. Many homeowners are surprised by how much brighter their rooms look afterward.

Personal Observation About Window Screens

As mentioned I have cleaned window screens for years. Unfortunately, how clean the screens get depends on the age of the screen material. Plastic and metal screens deteriorate over time. This means they only look as good as how old they are. The older the screen material, the worse the screens look after cleaning.

At some point the homeowner will have to replace the screen material. Most people wait way too long to do this. It’s a pain and no one usually looks at the screen unless they are in tatters.

Something else about screens that most people don’t know is that there are two other plastic parts to a screen that also deteriorate over time. First is the “pull tabs” used to pull the window out of the frame. Those are plastic and eventually they fall off due to age.

The other plastic part of window screens is that there is a corner piece that keeps the metal frame edges together. You can’t see them of course, but over them they break automatically. This is also due to age and deterioration.

I have heard but can’t prove it that you can get new screens created at Jone’s Paint and Glass or probably any other local window glass company in town.

Office Windows, Window Screens, and Other Things Customers Secretly Judge

Business owners notice dirty windows and dirty window screens faster than most.

When customers arrive at an office, the entrance windows are often one of the first things they see. Clean glass and clean window screens help create a professional appearance. My office window cleaning service includes screen cleaning and attention to the small details that often get overlooked.

I’ve cleaned windows for businesses throughout St. George. As an active member of the St. George Area Chamber of Commerce, I enjoy helping fellow business owners keep their properties looking sharp and welcoming.

Smudge-Free Windows and Dust-Free Screens: A Beautiful Relationship

Most of my work is still residential window cleaning.

The sun seems to shine all the time in Southern Utah. And it reveals every smudge, streak, and dusty window screen in sight.

My residential window cleaning service includes screen cleaning to help bring more natural light into your home and make those red rock views stand out again.

Around St. George, people take pride in their homes. Clean windows and clean window screens help your home reflect that same pride.

People also ask:

How much does it cost to get window screens professionally cleaned?

I charge $1 per regular window screen. Sunscreens may be more depending on how hard they are to remove and replace and what type of sunscreen cleaning the homeowner wants.

Hard Water Stain Removal From Window Screens in St. George

Hard water is a fact of life in Southern Utah.

My hard water stain removal service has been a specialty for 9 years. Those white mineral deposits can permanently damage window screens if they’re ignored too long. I’ve seen stains so stubborn they looked like someone sprayed milk on the window and the window screen and forgot about it.

The good news is that many hard water stains can be removed before permanent damage occurs.

Window Screen Cleaning for Homes and Businesses

Here’s what I’ve learned after years in this business. Most customers don’t care too much about window screens. They really only care about clean windows. But to do an A+ job of window cleaning, the screens have to be clean also.

If you’re searching for window screen cleaning St. George, I’d be happy to help.

Give me, Don Glasgow, a call at (435) 879-1239 and let’s get those windows and screens cleaned up before the next dust storm decides to redecorate them agian.

What is the best way to clean window screens?

I have over 40 windows in my home, each with removable screens. What is the best way to clean them? I’ve considered taking them outside and using a hose or light pressure washer, vacuum, etc. they are mostly dusty from the winter months but seem to need more than a dusting. Any suggestions?

Answermavis2030 – I pull them off, stand them in my shower and spray with a cleaner like Dawn Powerwash. Then I use my showers detachable shower head to rinse them with the water as hot as I can get it. The hot water helps them dry pretty fast.

Answer – sarcasmo_the_clown – I saw a video where a guy used a leaf blower to blow the debris off the screen toward the outside. I tried this myself and it did a decent job. Then use dish soap and water, applied with a sponge, to wipe the dirt off.

Answer – samarm132 – You can use the pressure washer. If they are overly dirty or faded, you can rescreen them by replacing the mesh, it’s not too hard from what I’ve seen but I don’t have too much experience doing it
